One of the easiest ways to get involved in the IU Southeast community is to explore our Greek Life.  Not all of your undergraduate education can be learned in a classroom or textbook. There are certain lessons and skills you will learn through shared experiences and relationships.  Your sorority will be able to help prepare you for the wonderful world that awaits inside and outside of the university community. You will make lifelong friendships that will influence your present and future.

IU Southeast's sororities emphasize the personal attributes that will make you a solid, well-rounded student and citizen. They stress academic excellence and provide support systems to make you a stronger student and resilient individual. The Greek community at IU Southeast focuses on service, diversity, and leadership development. It's no wonder that IU Southeast's Panhellenic community is such an important component in our educational community. Take advantage of the opportunity to join IU Southeast's Greek Life!  Explore your options because opportunities such as this only come around once in a lifetime!
Registration for Fall 2023 Recruitment will open soon!
Potential new members are encouraged to register as early as possible to ensure a connection with their Gamma Chi and other women in their group. This will stay a flat rate throughout the summer, up until registration weekend. We made the decision to lower our fee in hopes to give every woman the fair opportunity to go through recruitment. We care about you and your well-being

Recruitment Weekend

Please attend all 5 nights of recruitment!
Meet Your Gamma Chi Night
Thursday September 7th, 2023
Wear:  Join us in your tourist or a  fun travel outfit to kick off our  themed recruitment!
What:  Optional, but HIGHLY recommended. You will be meeting your Gamma Chi group for the first time. Final preparations for the recruitment weekend will take place, as well as an info session.
Open House/Sisterhood Round
Friday September 8th, 2022
Wear:  Dressy casual/informal attire, jeans/khakis, shorts, and simple shoes. Please no graphic tees. Casual and comfortable, but put together. This is your first impression of the chapters!
What:  You will be attending a 30-minute event with each of the three chapters. These initial meetings are designed to familiarize you with the Panhellenic community and the benefits of "going Greek."  Your Gamma Chi group will accompany you to each chapter throughout this day. This first day is designed to be relaxed, so just have fun!
Philanthropy Round
Saturday September 9th, 2022
Wear:  Business casual attire, khakis, black pants, skirts, sundresses, etc. Heels or flats are acceptable.
What:  The second round marks the beginning of the invitational rounds, and you may attend one to three events for this round. You will attend these events with a different group because each potential member will have an individual schedule. Today you will learn about each of the sororities' national and local philanthropies. Each of the chapters will host events every year to support their causes and you will be able to learn more about these opportunities. You can expect to spend 45 minutes with each chapter.
Preference Round
Sunday September 10th, 2022
Wear:  Cocktail attire (dress, skirt, dress pants, etc.) Dress like you are going to an interview.
What:  Preference is the last day of recruitment events.  A scheduled invitation to a preference party indicates a chapter's strong interest in you as a future member.  You may attend one or two events on this day for one hour each.  Throughout the preference round, a sorority's presentation will reflect the values and ideals held in esteem by its members.  Listen carefully to what the women say--they are revealing the strongest characteristics of their chapter to you today.  Preference events have a more serious tone.  Therefore, you may feel more comfortable in a dress you would wear to a reception or a more formal setting.
Bid Day
Monday September 11th, 2022

Wear:  Casual (you should wear a cami under your shirt, as you will be getting a new t-shirt to wear). Wear comfortable shoes!
What:  Bid Day, the last day of Recruitment Weekend, is the day potential members receive their invitations, or bids, to join a sorority.  You may receive a bid card with the name of the sorority you have been invited to join.  It is an exciting day when potential members meet their new sorority sisters.  The whole chapter will welcome you into your new sorority!
If you have a scheduling conflict, any special needs, or need any accommodations during Recruitment Weekend, check out the bottom of this page.
We want you to go through the process of recruitment and will work with you so you can!
