​Founded in 1869 at the University of Virginia, Kappa Sigma's mission is that the fraternity should complement and enhance the educational mission of the host institution, promote the ideal of brotherhood, actively contribute to the personal growth and development of its members, promote ethical behavior and decision-making, and encourage service to others. They are focused upon the four pillars of fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and service. ​

Founded in 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan University, Tau Kappa Epsilon was built on the honest convictions of love, charity, and esteem.
